Your questions about Belveo windproof parasol

How long will it take to be delivered?

We aim to deliver your Belveo parasol within 1 to 5 working days. This timeframe accommodates for the occasional variances in delivery schedules, ensuring we cover peak periods and unexpected delays.

Once you place your order on our website, it's promptly sent to our warehouse for preparation. In most cases, orders placed are dispatched the very next day! We quote a 5-working-day delivery window to account for potential unforeseen events such as strikes, public holidays, or unexpected road incidents that might affect the courier services.

Rest assured, we strive to get your order to you as swiftly and efficiently as possible, keeping you informed every step of the way.

What are the differences between polyester, olefin and acrylic canopies?

The polyester fabric is our standard choice for both centre pole and cantilever parasols. It includes a 2-year warranty and is treated for UV protection, boasting an UPF of 50+. However, darker shades, like charcoal grey and taupe, may be more susceptible to fading. In contrast, our olefin and acrylic fabrics are designed to resist fading and mildew. They offer enhanced UV protection with an UPF of 80+ and come with a more extended 5-year warranty. Notably, the acrylic fabric features more pronounced micro-perforation compared to olefin, improving airflow and ensuring cooler conditions underneath. Our acrylic canopies are crafted in France by Dickson, a leading name in outdoor fabric, making them a superior choice for parasols.

Can I use the parasol in the rain?

Our parasol canopies are designed with water-repellent properties, meaning they resist water penetration to a significant degree – ideal for light showers but not for very heavy long rainfall or storms. This choice is intentional, aligning with the primary function of a parasol. Our canopies are breathable, allowing air circulation to prevent overheating under the summer sun, a feature that waterproof materials would compromise.

It's important to note they are robust enough to handle a substantial amount of water without damage to the canopy or the parasol structure. However, for prolonged protection, especially in rainy conditions, we recommend purchasing a protective cover. This will help preserve the canopy's quality and extend the lifespan of your parasol.

What is the wind resistance of our parasols?

In practical tests, our parasols have withstood winds of up to 55mph without breaking, even when positioned horizontally. However, we advise a cautious approach. As a general guideline, we recommend not using Belveo parasols when local weather forecasts predict winds exceeding 40mph. Relying on common sense and safety first ensures the longevity of your parasol and the well-being of those around it.

Is the base included? What type of base do I need?

Although our images typically showcase the parasol with its base to help visualise it in situ, please note that the base is sold separately. If you're looking for an affordable weighting system, we suggest opting for a set of four slabs.

For those who require mobility and ease of movement on your terrace, a wheeled base is an ideal choice. This option allows for effortless repositioning of your parasol, catering to your changing shading needs.

Weather resistance

Patented windproof parasols

Belveo round parasols are equipped with two sets of ribs: rigid, static ribs and flexible ribs. The flexible ribs are integrated into the canopy and allow the canopy to reduce its wind load by automatically rising when the wind increases and returning to its initial position when the wind decreases, without any intervention on your part. In the case of a wind gust, the wind load is reduced and the structure does not break.
