Canopies designed to last

All the canopies available on our website are perfectly compatible with our wind-resistant parasols. Reinforced, closely monitored throughout production, and laboratory-tested, they are designed to provide long-lasting protection, even against the elements. We offer three types of canopies (polyester, olefin, and acrylic), each catering to specific needs. All are water-repellent, with the main difference being their level of resistance to fading.

Easy to replace

At Belveo, we think about sustainability from the design stage. Rather than replacing your entire parasol, we offer you the easy option of swapping out the canopy. Whether it’s due to a stain, an accident, or just for a change, you can easily change your canopy. It’s a great chance to try a new colour or upgrade to a higher-quality fabric, tailored to your needs.

What’s the difference between acrylic, olefin and polyester canopies?

At Belveo, we offer three different canopy materials for your parasol. While all provide maximum sun protection (UPF 50+), the choice depends on your specific needs:
- Fabric thickness (and therefore durability)
- Colour fastness over time
- Aesthetic finish (look and feel)
-Water repellency (resistance to the British weather)

ACRYLIC CANOPY: The Belveo Signature

Our Acrylic canopy is 270g/m² thick—our densest and most resilient fabric. It stands out for its premium finish: a rich texture and vibrant colours (solution-dyed fibres) that remain stable for years (7-year warranty). Highly water-repellent, it can withstand normal rain for extended periods and heavy downpours or storms for several hours. This is the canopy we recommend for those seeking ultimate long-term stability.

Is this for you?
- Homeowners:
If your outdoor space is exposed to the elements and you want peace of mind with the longest possible lifespan, Acrylic is the best choice.
-Professionals: (Hotels, architects, restaurants, etc.) If you are equipping a public space, Acrylic is the industry standard for durability and style.

Pros:
- Superior look and feel
- 7-year colour warranty
- Excellent water repellency (withstands heavy rain)
- Fabric is 40% thicker than other materials

Cons:
- Available in 3 exclusive colours only (Anthracite Grey, Taupe, Ivory)

OLEFIN CANOPY: The perfect balance

Our Olefin canopy is 50% recycled and 190g/m² thick. It offers a significant aesthetic upgrade with its matte finish and silky touch, enhancing any garden or patio. The fabric is solution-dyed to ensure excellent colour fastness over time (5-year warranty). Water-repellent and quick-drying, it easily handles light showers or poolside splashes.

Is this for you? If you are looking for a beautiful, refined parasol that maintains its colour and appearance for many seasons, Olefin is an excellent choice.

Pros:
- Refined matte appearance and soft touch
- 5-year colour warranty

Cons:
- Standard water repellency (best for light rain)
- Lighter fabric weight

POLYESTER CANOPY: Essential Protection

Our Polyester canopy is 100% recycled and 210g/m² thick. It provides the essentials: effective and immediate sun protection. It is a functional and accessible choice for those looking for simple shade. With its high-shine finish, it is treated to resist fading, though some fading may occur within a few months under intensive use.

Is this for you? If you need a purely functional, entry-level parasol to enjoy the shade at an accessible price point.

Pros:
- Price/Value for money

Cons:
- Subject to colour fading over time
- Standard water repellency (not suitable for heavy rain)
- Standard fabric density

Which canopies are compatible with my parasol?

All canopies available on our website are compatible with Belveo or Easywind parasols with 8 ribs. To find the right canopy: Identify the size and type (centre-pole or cantilever) of your current parasol. Find the corresponding canopy. For example, if you have a 3x3m centre-pole parasol, select the 3x3m centre-pole canopy.

Check the year of your parasol:
If you purchased your parasol in 2022 or earlier, you can choose a canopy marked compatibility: 2021-2022. If you purchased your parasol in 2023 or later, you can select a canopy marked compatibility 2023-2026.

Not sure about your canopy size?

For a round parasol: Measure from the top cap to the end of one of the fibreglass ribs. This will give you an approximate canopy size.

For a square or rectangular parasol: Measure from one side to the other, then repeat for the adjacent side.

Does your parasol have 6 ribs, and you can't find the right canopy? Some older models are no longer in production, but we may still have compatible replacement canopies in stock that are not listed online. Email us at contact@belveo.com, and we’ll be happy to assist you!

How do I replace my parasol canopy?

Replacing your parasol canopy takes only 5 to 10 minutes. If two people are available, it’s even quicker, but don’t worry—it’s perfectly doable alone. A step ladder will be needed to reach the top of the parasol.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Open the zips on each fibreglass rib and gently bend them to remove the canopy.

2. Unscrew the top cap at the top of the parasol to release the canopy, then slide it off.

3. Position the new canopy, close the zips on each rib.

4. Screw the top cap back on, and that’s it—your parasol is ready for more time outdoors!

How do I clean my parasol canopy?

Clean stains as soon as they appear to prevent them from setting. For gentle maintenance, hand-wash your canopy by soaking it in lukewarm water with 150ml of mild soap per litre. Gently scrub with a sponge or soft brush, rinse thoroughly, and air dry. For tougher stains (excluding polyester canopies), a diluted bleach solution can be used: Mix 1 litre of water, 150ml of mild soap, and 50ml of bleach in a spray bottle. Apply to the entire canopy, let it sit for 10 minutes, scrub with a sponge, and rinse thoroughly.

If preferred, you can machine wash the canopy: Remove it from the parasol, close all zips, and wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle with your usual detergent. For mildew stains (excluding polyester canopies), add 50ml of bleach and start the machine immediately to dilute the solution properly. Once clean, always air dry your canopy.

To maintain your canopy in the best condition: Never store or close your parasol while the canopy is damp, as this can lead to mildew. Keep it away from reflective surfaces or heat sources that could damage the fabric. With these simple steps, your canopy will stay clean and in top condition season after season.
